Reidman College History
ReidmanCollegeis the largest institution inIsraelfor complementary medicine. The college was established in 1987 by Ms.Sally Reidman, who came toIsraelfrom theUnited States. It is thanks, partially, to Ms. Reidman that complementary medicine developed inIsrael, obtaining the recognition of numerous government and public institutions and hospitals. In addition to the Body‑Centered Psychotherapy program, the college offers programs in Chinese Medicine, Naturopathy, Natural Clinical Nutrition, Ayurveda- Traditional Indian Medicine, and a variety of Manual therapies, among others. Today, ReidmanCollegeis the largest college in Israel for complementary medicine with3,000 students and approximately 350 teachers and assistants. It has branches in Tel Aviv,Jerusalem, the Sea of Galilee, Beer Sheva, Eilat andHaifa.
School for Holistic Psychotherapy
The School for Holistic Psychotherapy developed naturally in response to the graduates’ feedback concerning their needs to increases theoretical knowledge and understanding of more psycho-therapeutic treatment techniques. All of this in addition to the main techniques of the Holistic balancing. And so, in each year of the program there was a natural evolution as graduates went out to work in the field and came back with more requests for more knowledge and continuing supervision. Eventually, in 1999 the program expanded into the current five-year program of spirtual Psychotherapy, based primarily on the philosophies of transpersonal psychology, Budahism psychology and more, , together with the knowledge and principles of modern psychotherapy.
Basic Theory and Concepts
Reidman College’s Spirtual-Centered Psychotherapy is an integrative method based on modern psychotherapy principles, theories and treatment techniques developed by psychotherapy of Freud (Psycho-Dynamic Approach), Jung (Depth Psychology), Winnicott (Object Relations theory), Carl Rogers (Humanistic approach), Transpersonal Psychology, and others.
The body-mind-spirit relationship is at the core of the program. The desire to understand the relationship between the physical, cognitive, emotional, energetic, psychological, and spiritual layers of our being is what characterizes the Body‑mind- spirit Centered Psychotherapy program unique to atReidmanCollege.
