1. Welcome from our New President

Dear friends,

This is a small report from a meeting in Riga, Latvia that took place at April 23rd. We had the situation that three associations would like to organize the 14th EUROTAS conference in 2012. The proposed dates are: 27 -30 September 2012. By our meeting personally it was possible to find a way ahead with mutual support and synergy. I felt very touched that this could happen.

Ingrida gave a wonderful encompassing PowerPoint presentation that showed the transpersonal vision of Ingrida and her group. The conference is envisioned as a bridging between eastern and western European cultures.

For this purpose the Baltic countries are perfectly situated from their political history and from their spiritual tradition. In ancient times the Baltic hosted a diversity of magic and healing practices, and for a long period it had to suffer from the clashing forces of Western and Eastern European interests. Authenticity, creativity and spirituality have become the healing potential for the Baltic countries. And so was the style of this meeting. There was a high leveled state of co-operation and synergy within Ingrida’s team, and also between the representatives of other Baltic Associations.

The title of the planned conference will be”Spirituality and Creativity”. It is an expression of the Latvian collective and had been worked out by Ingrida and her group in a manner of grounded and heartfelt spirituality.

The conference is perfectly embedded in the professional field of Latvian psychotherapy, and will be supported by main-stream professionals and different institutions of the transpersonal field as well. The Latvian organizers will be supported by the Estonian and Lithuanian Associations.

The conference will take place at the beautiful seashore of Jurmala, which is a well known town at the seashore close to Riga.

Best wishes and thanks to all who participated in this meeting

Ingo B. Jahrsetz
President - Freiburg/Germany

2. The Bern Switzerland 12th EUROTAS Conference 29 September - 3 October 2010 – Fausto Sergej Sommer

Dear colleagues, friends and interested people

The Eurotas conference 2010 is not far away. We are fully engaged in its preparation. Our team is eager to make the best possible effort for making this event a memorable one, yet, even more one that will bring many new insights, jumps in consciousness, exciting encounters, and playful moments and last but not, least moments of heart content.
We are looking forward to bringing people from all over the world together in a dialogue on what the Transpersonal is capable of. We are convinced that the foundations of transpersonal theory are sound and valid today as at their introduction. However, we are just as much convinced that the Transpersonal needs to go beyond ideologies and move towards sound practical application in all fields of human endeavours. We believe that we sincerely need the diversity of all the transpersonal approaches, all of them holding within a truth of understanding. Yet, we also need the university of a binding system that is tolerant and big hearted enough to hold all these tendencies together. When we look at our history then we find that individualism has lead us to a splitting up in all of human activities, because of the individuals urge and egotism to highlight his/her own doing. What we need is individualism that is responsible and creative enough to see the advantage in sharing and even fighting for a discourse over all and everything. This latter is what the Conference will be about: feeling the overall system; feeling individuality, feeling the joy in creating something not for the moment but for the future of all of us.

My heart is inviting you all to come and share, fight and play
Sincerely
Fausto Sergej Sommer

Here is some further information. On our website www.eurotas2010.ch you will find already most of the information needed to join us in an exciting event, that will carry us beyond everyday consciousness and yet ground us with dialogues on important transpersonal issues. The themes set are Knowledge, Pleasure and Belief as well their Synergy. We have invited four main speakers, who will initiate and set afire each day with controversial presentations. With this we hope to bring new stimuli into our discussions, ignite creative forces and bring forward our best in emotions and thoughts. We intend to hold fast to these day schemes throughout the day even during lunch with table discussions on issues that came up during the morning events. At the end of each afternoon we’ll have a podium discussion on the day’s happenings in order to pin down and focus on the essential emotional and cognitive learning of participants as well as presenters. The transpersonal, and we especially talk about the transpersonal and not transpersonal psychology, is challenged to come up with vessels of knowledge that can be understood and translated into everybody’s life with ease and comfort. We are not in a dream world nor in a virtual space, we are yet again in a paradigm shift that brings us into a world that is in need of answers to basic questions more than ever. Our world today is a highly challenging world, complex and multilayered, full of possibilities and yet there are not enough trees to hug and hold on too. The Transpersonal could be such a tree, if e.g. Eurotas is capable of making the transition from being a mere exchange platform to becoming an inspiring, invigorating source of information and companionship. Our event in Switzerland is geared to be such a platform. We want to have results that can be used in future also and not just happenings that leave us with an urge and longing for food.
Eurotas 2010 wants to be food for the soul and the mind. I invite you to be my guests at a most splendidly set table in an inspiring surrounding.

Looking forward to meeting you all
Fausto Sergej Sommer

3. The 17th International Transpersonal Conference, Moscow 23- 27 June

The mission of the Conference is to present, both experientially and didactically, breakthrough discoveries revealing the fundamental role of consciousness in all human affairs and the value for humanity of our growing insights into the nature of consciousness and of the world. We want to review the role the transpersonal perspective has played in human history from the time of the first shamans 50.000 years ago to the discoveries of modern consciousness research, transpersonal psychology, and other scientific disciplines

The Conference will present not only a comprehensive overview of the forty years of the transpersonal paradigm through the voices of its founders and pioneers, but also outline its future perspectives. The lasting legacy of this conference will be several volumes documenting its proceedings in hundreds of papers by authors from many countries of the world, exploring the relevance of transpersonal research and ideas for science, politics, economy, ecology, religion, art, and other fields. We hope to bring over 600 participants from all continents, as well as numerous keynote speakers, artists, and spiritual teachers

Pre- and post-Conference workshops

Alex and Allyson Grey (21-22st June)

VISIONARY ART WORKSHOP
Visionary artists Alex and Allyson Grey teach painting and drawing from the wellspring of inner visions. This workshop is an opportunity for artists at any level of experience to draw and paint from the sacred ground and the mystic eye. We learn, through experiential processes, lectures and artmaking, to empower the process of bringing inner visions to outer form.

Stan Grof (21-22st June)

The Adventure of Self Discovery
This seminar will give an opportunity to experience a deep journey into oneself within a group. Holotropic Breathwork is a powerful approach to self-exploration and healing that integrates insights from modern consciousness research, anthropology, various depth psychologies, transpersonal psychology, Eastern spiritual practices, and mystical traditions of the world.

Silvia Nakkach (28-29th June)

SOUND: The Beginning and the Future of Transpersonal Therapies
This seminar is about the role of Sound, Voice, and Music in healing and spiritual awakening. Sound is the foundation for all existence. Our experience of Sound as a vibrational force is central to the awareness of our cosmic consciousness, and Sound expresses the relationship between human and cosmic orders-One in Union with the Infinite Universe.

Stuart Sovatsky (28-29th June)

The Unbroken Circle: Tantra of Ideal Life, Love, Death and Rebirth
With rituals, chanting, meditations, dyad exercises and translation of little-known but essential Sanskrit terms, we will journey through a 100 year fully-matured ideal life unto great-great-grandparenthood, grateful death, afterlives (antarabhavas) and rebirth by which a fully-matured One World Family Culture can emerge.

Spiritual Pathways of Leaders, Teachers, Facilitators and Therapists
In this two day workshop, Max and Ellen will introduce concepts and methods for leaders, teachers, facilitators, and therapists to reconnect to the unique, deep inner path, or personal journey principle, that can lead through the maze of difficulties and challenges of today’s quickly changing world, and help to re-discover the infallible compass that provides a frame of reference in the twists and turns of our everyday fates.

Bernard Lietar (28th June)

Seminar for Small and Medium Sized Firms in an Age of Financial Uncertainty
Contrary to what is generally perceived, it is possible for businesses to take their initiatives in their own hands to deal with cash flow problems. For instance, forming business-to-business networks makes it possible to systematically avoid financial strangulation. Such an approach has already proven successful in several Latin American countries, and is being introduced in the European Union now.

Rick Tarnas (28-29th June)
Cosmos ans Psyche
In this two day workshop, Rick Tarnas will introduce new understanding of human history based on his research of planetary archetipes.

Journey to the Land of Tuvinian Shamanism (2-12th July)
Tuva is a birthplace of an ancient culture, with its original language, authentic ethos and co-existence of shamanism and buddhism. During the trip we will be accompanied by hereditary shamans of Tuva. They will perform rituals in sacred places, near lakes, and mountain sources. They will give us a glimpse of  shamanic ancient knowledge and tell us about siberian shamanism.

5. News from Bulgaria; 13th EUROTAS Conference 2011

Dear friends from EUROTAS, greetings from Bulgaria,

I would like to inform you about transpersonal events in our country. On April 12 and 13 we held the 4th annual conference of the BAP (Bulgarian Association of Psychotherapy) – “Psychotherapy in Bulgaria – standards and practices”. Unfortunately we could not have a transpersonal presentation due to the fact that only certain members of BAP were allowed to present. However the positive is that we made the first steps necessary to become members. We were assured the there will be no problems. We were nicely surprised by the positive interest and the attention that we received
We will have the 3rd conference of BATPP in Bulgaria. The first two were held in 2008 and 2009 with the participation of Vladimir Maikov. The conferences will be an annual event.

As the 13th conference of EUROTAS will be held in Bulgaria in 2011 we would like this year’s national conference to be a platform for promotion and a preparation for the EUROTAS conference. This year’s national conference will be held in Sofia during the first weekend of November (06-07). We are still negotiating a venue. This year’s conference theme will be “Transpersonal psychology and psychotherapy – essence and methods”.

With this letter we would like to invite you to the conference as participants and guests. Your presence will be very important for us due to your experience, knowledge, your professional authority and the interest and excitement that you will create in the professional circles of medical doctors, psychologists and practitioners that are interested and work in the sphere of Transpersonal psychology. If you are intending to participate in our conference in November, please contact us via e-mail or by phone. We also expect representatives from the Bulgarian Association of Psychotherapy to attend the conference. We hope that this will be a good promotion for the next year. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.

Warm greetings
Marian Gospodinov - e-mail: mng1122457@yahoo.com - tel. + (359) 887-236-973

6. Transpersonal Perspectives (UK) News

Dear All.

I can’t believe that we have arrived at the end of a hard winter and that at last spring is upon us. It seems a long time since we met at Pax Lodge because, of course, this year we had a residential conference in March.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank, from the bottom of my heart, all those people who gave of their time and expertise so freely and with so much love. They are too numerous to mention but without each and every one of them the Conference would have been a poorer weekend. It was a great occasion and I for one enjoyed every moment of it.

Transpersonal Perspective Days have been planned for the rest of the year, and I think you will agree that they are interesting and thought provoking days. I do hope you will be able to join us and don’t forget that we love to meet new people so please bring along friends and relations.

Sunday May 23rd - “Receiving and giving” facilitated by Barbara Siddall.

Sunday September 5th - “Dreamwork” facilitated by Maggie Peters.

Sunday November 7th - “Death and dying” facilitated by Dorothy Allen and Monica Anthony.

Cost. We have, for the moment kept the cost to £20.00 to include the day, lunch and refreshments.

To Book. Please send a cheque (Payable to Transpersonal Perspectives)

To: - Dorothy Allen. 20 Fleetwood Road. Dollis Hill. London. NW10 1ND. Tel. 020 8830 6434. Email. dorothy@itinuk.com

I do hope you will come along to all of our Perspective Days, I find it so special to be with like minded people. It really replenishes me, and I hope you find them equally special.

With very fondest love to everyone.

Dorothy.

7. News from Serge Beddington Behrens

Dear Friends

This is just to let you know that ELEGANT SIMPLICITY by my very old and dear friend, John Reed, has now been published. I highly recommend it. It is not long and is very delicately written. It explores the essence of what has gone amiss with our society and shows how, if we only learn to connect to our deeper selves and choose to move away from being so ego-centric, that 'elegant simplicity' may start infusing us ! If you are interested in this theme and want to have a copy of John's book, follow this link.

I have been very busy teaching and completing my own book, so you will not be receiving another newsletter from me for a bit. Please also note that I am now doing many psychotherapy sessions with people all over the world on SKYPE, and finding it very effective. It is fun having a 'global practice' in one's own drawing room!

With Love

Serge

8. From Russia always with love!

Dear John,

How are you? In the end of last year despite the crisis we made expedition to India. First we go the Himalaya, then to the South India. And finally reach the abode of Saint Ayyappa. Several years we dreamt about this place, and we visited it – Sabarimala – Ayyappa’s main temple inside the Tiger Reserve. Devotion to Ayyappa is very popular now in India.Hindu people accept Him as a son of Shiva and Vishnu (Vishnu as His Mother). It is said the Ayyappa is the saint of Kali Yuga, the time of Apocalypse. Probably, it’s the reason of His popularity. So many pilgrims we haven’t seen anywhere in India. Every year tens of millions people at Ayyappa’ birthday witness the appearance of fire balls on the slopes of Sabarimala valley. Usually it occurs on 14 of January. Also a very strange phenomenon we saw at the house of English envoy at Kerala. Alexey shot there two amazing plasmoids. You can see them on photos. Certainly, we have discovered these plasmoids only on photos, when we check them on the computer. We have a big collection of spherical plasmoids, but this kind we saw for the first time.

Much love,

Your Brothers Evgueny and Alexey

9. News from the Wrekin Trust

Dear Friends

The sunshine and showers of April seem to have migrated to May, as I write this on a blustery Bank Holiday afternoon on the south coast. Wherever we are, we have been reminded recently of just how much our lives are affected by "weather conditions" and how the restless core of our planet and the atmospheric currents surrounding it are way beyond our control. How can we still cling to the belief that we are the centre of our particular universe, when we are so forcibly reminded that "not my will" be done!

Collectively and individually we are going through a time when we must expect the unexpected. This gives us the opportunity either to release old patterns gracefully and gratefully, or to suffer the pain and discomfort of trying to cling on to what must be let go.

When facing the unexpected, we move out of our comfort zone and into a different place of awareness. It wakes us up. Often we experience insecurity and fear as taken-for-granted frameworks in our lives shift or simply disappear, but we also have the opportunity to discover deeper levels of trust and go beyond habitual reactions to outer circumstances. Lynn Bell points out that times of change can break open the stuck places in our psyches, and Neale Donald Walsch says "What can be changed is the way you deal with change, and the way you're changed by change".

In doing this, we have to remember that we are not alone. As we come into tune with our deeper selves and with those around us, we realise that we are all part of one collective evolutionary flow and "affairs are now soul size".

Evolutionary Consciousness is the theme of our Annual Round Table this year, when we shall examine together where is it taking us and what needs to change. Further details of the programme and booking form will follow, but meanwhile do make a diary note of the weekend of 29-31 October. For those who would like to focus on "The Awakening: the Christ Principle Emerges" there are still some places left on the residential weekend at Hawkwood College on 21-23 May - please contact as soon as possible info@hawkwoodcollege.co.uk.

With love and blessings

10. News from Helen Bazzard

Hi Everyone,

I was lucky enough to hold 3 interviews of 40 minutes with the radical priest, Peter Owen-Jones, that were filmed by the BBC. Pete's 3 part series starts this Friday at 9pm on BBC2. A couple of minutes of these interviews may well be used in episodes 1 and 3 along with other villagers' input.

Inspired by St Francis, our vicar stopped using money for a couple of months and lived through exchange of work and food both in his home village of Firle and on the road in Devon. Episode 2 takes him to Assisi, Italy.

His aim was to see how living more simply might affect relationship and spirituality. I wanted to explore what this might mean in terms of my interest in Transpersonal Psychology, (and maybe use some of the material at the annual EUROTAS conference.)

I thought I'd let you know in case either you're interested or happened to see me and wondered what on earth I was doing!
Pete's other programmes have been fascinating.

Warm regards,
Helen

11. News from Ninna Gay

Dear sisters and brothers,
I hope that you are well, had a good winter and are celebrating spring!

After ten years gathering these special photographs and a stimulating three years journey to realize this second revised edition of SHIFTS: Beyond the Visible, I am happy to give light to this beautiful child! Much Love and Gratitude!

Ninna

SHIFTS: Beyond the Visible New Collection Combines Photographs, Text and Poetry

DUBLIN – In her new book, SHIFTS: Beyond the Visible (published by AuthorHouse), Ninna Gay combines extraordinary photographs that unveil what happens at the unseen level of reality with an invitation to a journey in prose and poetry that is both inspirational and innovative in content as well as scope.

As many ancient spiritual teachings have highlighted for millennia and as modern physics has demonstrated today, everything that exists is made up of light and vibration. In life, the physical realm is connected with the unseen and shifting realm of reality called the Otherworld in the Celtic tradition. A veil exists between these two worlds. Ninna Gay’s photographs capture remarkable moments of significance when this veil becomes thinner. They are illustrations of the different realms of existence which coexist and interact with each other in our universe, as well as of our interaction with them. These photographs reveal how thoughts and emotions, intentions, beliefs and actions generate powerful yet subtle energies which are our constant acts of co-creation with all life. They also exemplify that meditations, prayers, ceremonies and meaningful gatherings can positively affect our individual and collective evolution on Earth.
