Eurotas meeting in Riga / Eurotas Conference 2012                  4/23/2010

Participants: Ingrida Indane, Inese Berzinja, ; Gennady Brevde; Dace Visnola; Elita Vansovica; Agija Bogdanova; Aigers Burgelis; Ingo B. Jahrsetz

Ingrida gave a wonderful encompassing PowerPoint presentation that showed the transpersonal vision of Ingrida and her group. The conference is envisioned as a bridging between eastern and western European cultures.
For this purpose the Baltic countries are perfectly situated from its political history and from its spiritual tradition. In ancient times it hosted a diversity of magic and healing practices, and for a long period it had to suffer from the clashing forces of Western and Eastern European interests.
Authenticity, creativity and spirituality had become the healing potential for the Baltic countries.

The title of the conference 2012 will be “Spirituality and Creativity”. It is an expression of the Latvian collective and had been worked out by Ingrida and her group in a manner of grounded and heartfelt spirituality.
The conference is perfectly embedded in the professional field of Latvian psychotherapy, and will be supported by main-stream professionals and different institutions of the transpersonal field as well.
The Latvian organizers will be supported by the Estonian and Lithuanian association.
The conference will take place at the beautiful seashore of Jurmala, which is a well known town at the seashore close to Riga.

Hello all

With reference to the creative ideas suggested after the Barcelona and Milan conferences, I propose a space here to offer wide support and expertise to organisers of the Swiss and future conferences.

The idea here being to facilitate (initial non-exclusive list):
    - the greatest level of participation, from both genders
    - creative engagement in the activities and ideas presented
    - active creation of new material rather than re-presentation of the old
    - support for the emotional and other process that emerge over the conference
    - transpersonal methods of conference management and facilitation
    - being transpersonal in conference ... working through the chaos, death, re-birth

Love to all

Dear Friends
I was feeling some of this after the Barcelona conference (as with so many other conferences).
And I have not engaged in this Forum until now, well after the Milan conference, from which I emerged with lots of wonderful experience and a few creative comments along the same lines as Dietrich above. I have run World Cafe Seminars with lots of people.... and used other creative meeting techniques for working with large groups.

I'm sorry for not having got involved earlier in this forum. I have been immersed in my own spiritual crisis over these last two years.
I'm sorry for any critiscism implied in my comments about the Milan Conference, in the recent newsletter,  especially when I have not offered my experience here as support.

I now propose to open a new topic on Conference techniques.... to address these issues and support conference organisers to meet our broadly shared aims.

with love

The 'concept' of the council of elders arose again in Milano, in a panel where there were only women. It seemed to receive wide appreciation then nothing.  .... interesting!

I commented then (and repeat now) about:
   - the existence of the Council of Grandmothers   http://www.grandmotherscouncil.com/
   - that 'eldership' is more about 'being' rather than 'doing' (answer to Jure) ... it is for
those who have already done and have no 'agenda' but who can be fully present with
spirit and their own wisdom .... the traditional grandparent role.
   - it is difficult to find men for these kind of things. We men want protagonism,
to save the world, to know the mind of God, to have schools named after us,
to write books, and to do stuff (so that our mothers will love us)

Tha Patriarchial model of verticality, experts, mind, ... trying to control our future has governed for long enough. For there to be an effective Council of Elders we men have to accept that we don't know and we cannot know, submitting to the greater wisdom that would speak through the Council. Not the posession of any of its members.

A council of elders is not, and should not be, an executive council. Both are required but they have clearly different functions. The Elders are like Trustees in a charitable foundation who hold on to the vision whilst the executors might get lost in the day to day conflicts of interests.  I have some expertise in setting up charities and foundations, training and supporting these two different roles - I offer this support with love.

I do lots of work specifically with men's groups and with Dialogue between the Genders. I have set up and coordinated local and European projects on these issues. In my opinion, before we can have a mixed Council of Elders we have to find the men who are ready to 'let go and into real eldership' so as to be able to meet the women at this humble and powerful level.

I do not feel that I am ready for eldership, my ego needs still get in the way. But I have been dreaming about structure and process for a global Council of Elders for over 2 years, with regional councils working in the same way. I won't go into details here and now.

But I have experience in working to facilitate (at a more executive level) the men's Council and the meeting between the sexes. I offer these skills towards this aim.

With love

Dear Margot
I want to thank you for your contribution to the forum
as you have noticed I am the only one who has responded.
It is very sad, I have tried in the past to be motivating, provocative, yes `'the world is waiting for us' now more then ever before.
we need to get out of our spiritual cave and start to have a global transpersonal vision.
as I have a school in Estonia with 200 students and schools in other countries, I am very keen on teacher and student exchange, education is the main priority.
I have started a dialogue with few international teaching institutes, I just wish to widen the number of those who  ol want to take part.
the global vision of transpersonal education is very important, if we do not want to become another close and isolated school of psychological theory.
So Margot lets move ahead, please write to me about your activities, i am always looking for intresting people to invite to Estonia, so far I had John Rowan and Vitor Rodrigues.
with hope

well I am runing transpersonal seminars in China and Mexico apart from other countries.
China is very intresting, they are very open to new ideas, but I need to exercise great care there, words like spiritual or any words that might be understood as 'religious' are not accepted and if you percieved as a spiritual leader or preacher you might get into trouble.
on the other hand working in Mexico is a real celebration, seems like the transpersonal soul have been there long before us, when working there i feel I am just helping to confirm and release what was always there.

this are only 2 small short examples, from the 2 countries i have been working in, i find it important to take the message to different corners of the world, for me it is a very enriching experience, and I would like to see some more work done with cultural diversity, my focus is not necessary what are the cultural differences but what are the cultural similarities, the more i look into it, the more I have a deeper understanding what Jung was trying to say by his concept of the collective unconscious.
So thank you for opening this discussion I hope it will generate interest for coperation

I would like to open up the topic of people's feedback following the October conference in Milan explore together our ideas for our involvement and the activities of EUROTAS.  It seems that part of my path is about taking the discoveries and the very useful applications of our work out into the world.  While I'm sure we are each doing that in our therapy practices and in some of our professional activities, it would be interesting to take this further and explore the potentials and means of applying our work and research in the world.  Does anyone have an interesting topic to share on this subject?  I am interested to know what is being done already and what we can do in the future.
