The European Transpersonal Association

Press Release

EUROTAS, the European Transpersonal Association is pleased to announced two new associations who are bringing their association into the EUROTAS family.

At the Delegates Meeting in London in August, GRETT from France was elected with enthusiasm as member association of EUROTAS.  Bernadette Blin, head of GRETT and her colleagues agreed to host the 8th EUROTAS European Conference in France in the Loire in September 2006 and this was welcomed by the Delegates. GRETT (Group for Research and Studies in Transpersonal Therapies) is a non profit-making French association governed by the law of July 1st 1901. It has been founded in November 2003. From its statutes: the goal of the association is to create a space for exchange and sharing between all persons interested in the transpersonal movement within a spirit of freedom, openness, diversity and respect for individual beliefs. The objective is also to promote, experiment, support various research projects and to encourage theorisation in the vast field of the transpersonal; in psychology, therapy, in social, spiritual, anthropological, ecological, artistic, cultural and scientific topics. With this aim, it can organize encounters, conferences, events and initiate exchange, elaboration, communication, editing and publishing. In general it will support and welcome research and activities related to the transpersonal view, and the study of human consciousness. The association will avail itself of all legal means for formation, communication, and propagation (encounters, seminars, colloquies, publications, etc.) which can contribute to the fulfilment of its goals. The association also allows itself the possibility, using all legal means, to help in the organisation, administration, representation, animation, of other structures with similar or related goals. GRETT currently has approximately 150 members: professionals in psychotherapy, trainers, individuals and organisations interested in the trans-personal movement. GRETT is in close collaboration with IRETT, Institute for Research and Studies in Transpersonal Therapy, directed by Bernadette Blin, the first institute offering a full training in Transpersonal Psychotherapy in French. The main activities of the GRETT presently include the editing and publishing of the magazine SYNODIES (together on the way). Three issues a year with a chosen theme. One issue is centred on the yearly forum. Setting up a yearly forum of research, exchange, views and practices in the different domains of the transpersonal. The theme of the first forum was Giving breath to our practices (2002) The theme of the second forum was ”Presence, a living relationship” (2003). The theme of the third forum in October 2004 was: ”What is the transpersonal?” Its ties to therapies, personal development and spiritual traditions. The fourth in September 2005 will be ”Creativity and the Transpersonal.”

EUROTAS is also pleased to welcome   The Lithuanian Institute of Transpersonal Psychology. Founded in 2003, and being a part of growing learning community, the organisation seeks to be a professional and public integral transpersonal education forum sharing ideas and values of the rising culture of the consciousness movement in everyday life. Humanity faces a global question: very often knowledge work against human beings, destroy nature. Transpersonal science and education has to deal with such a subtle intrigue: inviting to re-educate ourselves, naturally to dissolve the dividing line between reductionism and Love .For making our input into this global task the association focuses on:

  • Actualization of transpersonal self-education and reconnection through ethno-cultural heritage
  • Developing and sharing of effective methodology of integral transpersonal education;
  • Collaboration with international, national professional and public education institutions, groups and individuals with integral transpersonal interest.
