In the transpersonal vision, we know that we’re all interconnected. There is no separation and everything that happens to even just one of us, somehow concerns the whole of the human community.
Living consciously this interconnection appears sometimes as a real challenge.
Opening our heart to all these politicians who claim their superiority in front of minorities, their disdain towards those who have different opinions, who have racist, sexist, and homophobic declarations, is not an easy task, at least for me!

Watching what is happening in so many countries today in Europe and in South America as an example, threatens my ability to keep my heart open, to not judge, and to see these “others” as part of the same Consciousness can be very difficult some days. My heart cries when I see the unbearable suffering of those people who have to leave their countries, their homes, their families and who are so often violently rejected by all the citizens of the wealthy and peaceful countries we live in.

I have to convince myself that such politicians need my compassion and my love as well as their victims, because we are linked beyond all our differences.

The spiritual path is an every moment practice. Even if we fail and forgot, then we can start again. Each breath is a new beginning, a new possible choice. It requires commitment, persistence, humility and faith.

So, let’s try again. Love is the only answer.

This practice is very important in regulating mind and achieving a state of peace and balance in different accepts of life. Therapeutic Keys to Self-Actualization in Homer’s Demeter

By Lindy McMullin PhD
Cambridge Scholars Publishing
Release Date: Aug. 1, 2018

This book is the result of a study that investigated the effects that myth in sacred text may have on personal, professional and transpersonal development. To ensure maximum impact in terms of imagery-enhancing properties, Homer’s Hymn to Demeter was read, accompanied by lyre music, in a therapeutic setting and the resulting experiences examined. The author, a clinician as well as researcher, succeeds in extracting personal epiphanies that have the potential to change perceptions and contribute to a healing process.

This book is a courageous and novel attempt to integrate ancient wisdom with modern scientific inquiry that honours all levels, states, and structures of consciousness within both the researcher and the study’s participants. It documents the deep inner preparatory work the author undertook prior to executing the study to situate herself in the historical context and prepare her psyche at a fundamental level to, as authentically as possible, receive the data, perceptions, and experiences from participants. Skill and creativity are also apparent with regard to the nuanced sophisticated manner of data collection and analysis – not only with words, but with accompanying drawings that depict the data in a unique manner that illuminates the many ways of knowing and expressing understanding. Moreover, the inclusion of a glossary helps navigate the reader through a delightfully rich and full experience.

Throughout the text, the focus of the inquiry (investigating the application of ancient Greek myth and music in personal, professional and transpersonal development) is reinforced. This work portrays a deep respect for the many ways of knowing inherent in the human species, calling for a revision of sacred script and its benefits in education and psychology. This book is sure to appeal to scholars, clinicians and educators, as well as the educated lay reader.

Dr Lindy McMullin is an international motivational speaker, therapist, educator and researcher. Author of A Soul’s Journey and co-editor of Metamorphosis through Change, her life work is dedicated to researching the depths of the psyche. Her MSc research was on the importance of integrating natural occurring transpersonal experiences into everyday life, and she has a post-graduate certificate in Esotericism. She primarily works with Western therapeutic methods and also uses art and drama to complement a psycho-synthesis of different approaches.

By Jevon Dängeli, MSc Transpersonal Psychology Coach & Trainer

Coaching may serve as an escalator toward transformation by incorporating perspectives and processes that promote transpersonal states of consciousness and the means to integrate these into everyday life.

Transpersonal coaching helps clients to develop a more expansive sense of self and, in so doing, empowers clients to access the necessary resources (social, emotional, psychological and spiritual) that will help them attain their fullest potential. One of the primary roles of the transpersonal coach is to hold a liminal space (present, receptive and emergent), walking the client through a transformative passage that involves open questioning, compassionate listening and support on every level. This way of coaching – beyond the ego – can help to transform a crisis into a spiritual awakening, which in turn can be leveraged in order to bring more resourceful perspectives and constructive solutions into challenging situations.

Transpersonal coaching takes a holistic and integrative approach to supporting client growth and transformation. Processes are tailored to help clients identify what provides them, with a sense of meaning and purpose and in turn, assists clients to find ways of consciously expressing this – in all areas of life.

This unique coaching methodology involves shifting attention to create the space for transformation to happen, then generating willingness to integrate the client’s new awareness into the context where it is most meaningful to them. This can be considered as a bio-psycho-socio-spiritual approach to coaching that helps clients resolve issues concerning the body, mind, relationships and spirituality.
Transpersonal coaching is inherently transformational. It empowers people to transcend the ego states, mindsets and behaviours that inhibit their personal, professional and spiritual growth.

It took 2-3 years to establish Transpersonal Coaching, but it was worth all the effort. Besides Swiss participants, also Germans are joining more and more, although the course mostly takes place in the south of Germany and of course in Switzerland There is an increasing need for an integral perspective, transpersonal experiences and methods free of any belief systems, but with reverence to all traditions.

One third of the participants are coaches, psychologist or other therapist, 1/3 come from my business seminars and workshops, and 1/3 of the participants join, because they like to integrate their own practice into a larger frame of reference, which the transpersonal perspective offers.
Last year I conducted the transpersonal coaching course with a group of professors from the University of Applied Sciences in Osnabruck, and the response was fantastic. The participants, professors from various faculties, have been able to implement many transpersonal techniques in their way of teaching, in the way they relate to each other and their form of communication. After the course, which took place in 2016/2017, mindfulness and compassion became central values for leadership and the future of the University Osnabruck.

Publishing two books – “The Transpersonal Self” and “The Transpersonal Coach” – in the last two years was helpful, to spread the news about the course and the introduction workshop, called: “The Transpersonal Self”, where people, curious about my work, can get a taste of the teachings and the techniques.

So far I haven’t been able to offer the transpersonal coaching course in other countries, apart from Switzerland & Germany, which I would like to do. So if you are interested to arrange (in English) for a transpersonal coaching course in your country, send me an email or give me a call. I am always open for cooperation.

Warm wishes,
Ralph Wilms

Eco Art Therapy combines intuitive creative self-expression with eco-psychology.

There are many people who come into therapy who are frustrated or trapped in self-destruction and non-functional patterns. Having contact with our deeper inner selves can give us an opportunity to listen to the inner voice of truth about ourselves.

Nature can lead us to return to ourselves with the help of natural forces. Staying in the day or night landscape, regardless of the weather and seasons, gives us an opportunity to get to know ourselves better in these unusual conditions. When we add an artistic self-expression to this, we can enjoy the message from our soul, together with the message from the earth.

Stays for parents and children are also part of such programs. These are new forms of how to share the time together creatively, where they can deal with topics that are not commonly spoken about in families. It can help to establish a healthy relationship with nature and to protect it for the next generation. We are working with family stories and learning from the wisdom of our own roots. There is also space to discover new talents, life challenges and opportunities and to follow the individual path of life.

Intensive ten day stays in nature are very popular. Landscape works on us through our senses, body and mind. Fantasy opens its door and we can get into an expanded state of consciousness. We can get in touch with the spiritual dimension of ourselves. These experiences are supported by art creation and later also by analytical dialogue or ritualization of psychic processes.

The Institute of Eko Art Therapy plans to buy a piece of land on the border with the Czech-Switzerland National Park and build a Psyche-wellness treatment with a crisis centre in nature. At present, the first eco art therapy is being trained.

From the book Who Makes the Bed by Viola Edward, Tranpersonal Psychotherapist and Breathworker

Finally, that person you have been waiting for, comes bursting into your life and lights up your senses, floods your body with a rush of adrenaline and hormones and reminds you of the true dimension of the word longing. Reminds you of the intensity that those feelings of being irresistible give and desires that are so hard to control. Your ego boundaries vanish; you feel so much an indivisible part of the union. You think that together you will be capable of almost anything. You feel ready to devote yourself exclusively to the well-being, the pleasure and the delight of this angel, this being who takes your heart into the fifth dimension.

We call it ‘falling in love’. Indeed, the sensation can be very similar to that of falling. You fall into a bliss state. The sun is shining, and you are walking on air, the ground is no longer solid under your feet, a strong force of attraction is pulling you, accelerating you onward without concern. The scenario is as familiar as life on earth, indeed the survival of the human species has depended on this phenomenon for millions of years
Whenever two people come together and create a relationship they will face cultural issues. The joyful, vivid, loving passions of their initial encounter can be eroded by these differences, the realities of the relationship.

Breathwork Counselling adds to the process of challenging transformation in a relationship with a greater sense of self-awareness and, above all, the improvement of mental, physical and spiritual well-being, achieving a consciousness of wholeness. The presence of a strong love and appreciation of the precious value of the relationship will draw the partners back, time and again, to this beautiful and challenging work of transformation.

Viola Edward

As winter approaches for those who live in the Northern Hemisphere, there is a reminder about the need to collect thoughts and to examine feelings. It is a time to focus on Breath, and to check whether it is shallow and tense or whether it is deep and relaxed. It is a time to focus on inner stillness and compassion and to practice as well as one can, non-judgement.

Sometimes we are so busy doing, that we forget about being – so this is an invitation and a reminder for us all to take a walk in the park of life, to be more accepting and open, with no striving or solutions in mind. The spring will soon come and with it new ideas that will emerge from the quiet time of contemplation.

I look forward to receiving some new articles for our next newsletter that will address current issues, raise questions and inform on ongoing research, as a general contribution to the transpersonal community. Any inspiring thoughts to ponder on are also most welcome.
Until next we meet, may the light guide and shield our transpersonal community!

Dr. Lindy McMullin
